February 3, 2012
The Boomtown Festival, Southeast Texas’ only film and music festival, announced today the full music line-up for their February 24 and 25 event. 2012 will mark the first year that Ringo Deathstarr will headline the music side of the festival.
Ringo Deathstarr, currently living in Austin, Texas, recently finished an international tour with the Smashing Pumpkins, and their 2011 CD “Colour Trip” was listed as number 25 on Allan Raible’s Picks For The Best Albums of 2011.
Other notable acts include We Were Wolves, a Beaumont band with a devoted following and hard-rocking sound, and Bang Bangz, a side project for Houston-based Tax the Wolf’s Mario Rodriguez. Newly formed local supergroup Mad Maude & the Hatters will also be playing this year’s festival. The band has been making waves around town with their nostalgic sound, powerful vocals, and appearances from members of Hello Chief, Jenny & the Reincarnation, the Ramblin’ Boys and Ashlynn Ivy & the Mothership.
Beaumont favorites Purple, Dear You, We Are Wombat, UltraSuede, Burgundy Strut, and Jason Miller (The Statement) will also be playing the festival, rounding out this year’s line-up with a mix of genres from classic rock, punk pop, and even experimental folktronica.
