The Boomtown Film and Music Festival is please to announce ‘Pictures of Superheroes‘ as an official selection in its 2013 movie lineup. This exceptionally quirky comedy was named by Indiewire as one of the top ten films of 2012 without distribution. Film Threat awarded ‘Pictures of Superheroes’ with Four Stars.  It was listed among the best Austin films of the year by the Austin American Statesman and AdobeAirStream.

The Austin Chronicle described it as ‘a terrific, and odd, ensemble piece with what seems like at least half of Austin’s best actors popping up in every other scene.’

In the film a slacker superhero artist named Joe lives in the home of non-specific businessman Eric – without Eric’s knowledge. When Marie is hired on as a maid to clean the house, things get complicated as she discovers and begins a friendship with the artist. Posing as Eric’s wife to close non-specific business deals with non-specific clients, Marie finds herself more and more entangled in both of their lives, until the situation devolves into something only a superhero could save. ‘Pictures of Superheroes’ is a comedy of extraordinarily ordinary people, stuck in everyday life.
