  • The Victoria Television Group is looking for a department head for Creative Services in Victoria TX. This role is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build up their commercial directing reel. As the department head, you would lead a team of two additional cameramen/editors, meet with the clients, write scripts, direct the shoots and edit. Also responsible for department budget, equipment purchases, billing and weekly department head meeting. The full time position is Paid. WORKSHOPS FOR ACTORS:

  • Gary Chason will be conducting a Wednesday night class this summer for ACTORS and DIRECTORS at Achieve Studios (4848 Guiton St., Suite 101, Houston TX 77027). The class will meet 7PM-10PM every Wednesday night starting June 7th and ending August 30th. The class will cover basic Actor/Director “calisthenics”; improvisation; independent activity; storytelling without words; and scene study. Directors will get hands-on experience directing actors as well as directing the camera. Actors will get valuable on-camera experience and will get to work with different Directors. There will be a screening of the classwork on the final class meeting August 30th and a Wrap Party. The class will be ongoing so you can attend or not depending on your schedule.   • Jeff “Dock” Dockweiler is one of the elite acting coaches in the industry and he is currently conducting a weekly acting class in Houston. Three weekends each month, Dock flies in from Los Angeles to teach his scene study class which focuses on making you an expert in the foundation of storytelling and pushing you to maximize your skills in the audition room and on set.   • Now in its 5th year, 14 Pews Film Academy’s summer documentary camp for teens makes films on Houston artists, while teaching the art of filmmaking. This summer we will be teaching several one-week filmmaking workshops, teaching the various styles of documentary filmmaking, techniques, meeting local professionals, you’ll learn all stages from pre-production, production to post-production.
