  • The Victoria Television Group is looking for a department head for Creative Services in Victoria TX. This role is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build up their commercial directing reel. As the department head, you would lead a team of two additional cameramen/editors, meet with the clients, write scripts, direct the shoots and edit. Also responsible for department budget, equipment purchases, billing and weekly department head meeting. The full time position is Paid.   • Texavision Media Center has launched Television Programming in Houston with live streaming content and access through mobile devices.   • Water Falls Media is seeking 6 supporting cast members for “Hidden Summer”, a low budget film (60min.) about the struggles that Chinese immigrants face in the US, tentatively scheduled to shoot in the Houston area for 2 weeks starting July 1st, 2017. Shot list for talent includes prison and court room scenes. Two females 30-45 yrs old (fluent Spanish speaking) for cameo roles: one as fellow prisoner in cell with film’s main Chinese woman character, and one no-nonsense Uniformed Prison Officer. Four males 30-45yrs old (Caucasian, African American, Asian or Hispanic) for cameo roles: Prosecutor, Uniformed Court Bailiff/Guard, and two Uniformed Police Constables. The class will meet 7PM-10PM every Wednesday night starting June 7th and ending August 30th. The class will cover basic Actor/Director “calisthenics”; improvisation; independent activity; storytelling without words; and scene study. Directors will get hands-on experience directing actors as well as directing the camera. Actors will get valuable on-camera experience and will get to work with different Directors. There will be a screening of the classwork on the final class meeting August 30th and a Wrap Party. The class will be ongoing so you can attend or not depending on your schedule.
