  • Texavision Media Center has launched Television Programming in Houston with live streaming content and access through mobile devices. We are currently seeking Associate Producers to join our team. Associate Producers will have the opportunity to create and broadcast their own shows, films or music videos.   • VISION, in partnership with the Black Sheep Agency , is casting Houston women for a photoshoot and video production that celebrates the individuality and uniqueness of every woman as part of a public health and empowerment campaign. This exciting project utilizes specialized equipment and effects to capture participants interacting with highly pigmented powder.   • Actor Sarah Gaston will be teaching a “Comedy and Improv Workshop” Workshop 10:00A-3:00P (bring a sack lunch or light snack), January 20th. “This workshop will be a combination of improv skills I’ve learned by studying at Second City and the Groundlings, and an exploration of comedy and how to find the funny in your scenes.  We’ll explore different kinds of comedy, comedy ‘rules’ and comic timing.  We’ll be using scripts from sit-coms and comedic films”. WORKSHOPS FOR FILMMAKERS

 

  • Tom Vaughan is teaching a 1-Day Story Structure Workshop that focuses on building a story structure through making several key decisions early on that ease the burden on the author and puts it where it belongs: the story. This process is more about scenes and sequences rather than plot points in order to maximize the dramatic impact as well as the commercial viability of the project.   • DIY Animation Club presents two DIY Animation Jumpstart Workshops on Tuesday, January 9th(6P-8P at Cowork Lab, 2500 Yale St. Unit B, 77008) and Tuesday, January 16th (6P-8P at Cowork Lab) taught by Dave Merson Hess & Ceci Norman. The workshop is a hands-on, in-person crash course in the Houston Heights. It will focus on DIY animation and GIF-making fundamentals, and work through exercises in both hand-drawn animation and stop-motion with paper cutouts. No previous animation experience necessary.
